Terms of sale
The terms for purchasing a subscription in Publik. How we handle your data is described in our privacy policy.
The agreement and the parties
These terms apply to purchases of personal subscriptions in Publik, both on the web and in our apps. The service is provided by Localghost AS, org. no. 938 104 719, Thurmanns gate 10A, NO-0461 Oslo, email hei@publik.no. The buyer is the person completing the order, and must be at least 18 years old. The agreement consists of these terms and the information provided at checkout. Business subscriptions are agreed separately and invoiced.
Where you can buy
Publik Max can be bought in three ways: with Vipps in the portal at publik.no, as an in-app purchase through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, or as an in-app purchase through Google Play on Android. If you buy with Vipps, Localghost AS is the seller. If you buy inside an app, Apple or Google is the seller for that transaction — they take the payment, issue the receipt and handle any refunds — and the App Store or Google Play terms then apply in addition to these terms. The service itself is provided by us regardless of the channel you buy through, and we are the ones to contact about its content and features.
Price and payment
Publik Max costs NOK 39 per month, VAT included. The price is the same whether you buy with Vipps, in the App Store or in Google Play. The stores show the price in your own currency, and the amount shown there before you confirm the purchase is the one that applies. Payment is made with Vipps, or with the payment method tied to your Apple ID or Google account. The subscription renews automatically every month and runs until cancelled; in-app purchases are charged up to 24 hours before the period ends. If a renewal fails — for instance because the payment agreement in Vipps has been stopped or the payment method in the store has expired — the subscription simply ends, at no further cost to you. If we change the price, you will be notified well before the change takes effect, so you can cancel first.
Delivery
Access to Max is activated on your Publik account immediately after payment is completed, and applies everywhere you use Publik with that account — the app and the portal on the web. When buying in the app, make sure you are signed in with the right account. If you already have Max, do not buy a second subscription through another channel; if it happens anyway, cancel one of them and contact us and we will sort it out.
Cancellation
The subscription has no lock-in period, and you can cancel at any time. Cancellation must happen in the same channel as the purchase: if you bought with Vipps, cancel under Settings in the portal; if you bought in the app, cancel under Subscriptions in the App Store settings on iPhone or iPad, or under Subscriptions in Google Play on Android. We cannot cancel a subscription bought in an app on your behalf, and it does not stop by itself if you delete the app or your Publik account. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, or the subscription renews once more. You keep access for the period you have already paid for; started periods are not refunded.
Right of withdrawal
As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Norwegian Cancellation Act, counted from the day of purchase. By purchasing, you consent to the service being delivered immediately. If you bought with Vipps, contact us at hei@publik.no within the deadline and we will refund the full payment. If you bought in the app, Apple or Google received the payment and handles the refund: on iPhone and iPad request it at reportaproblem.apple.com, on Android through Google Play. Do let us know at hei@publik.no as well, and we will follow up your case with the store. You may use the standard withdrawal form from the Norwegian Consumer Authority, but a simple email is enough.
Complaints
If the service is faulty or deficient, contact us at hei@publik.no and we will fix it as quickly as we can — including when the purchase was made in the App Store or Google Play. If the issue concerns the payment or receipt for an in-app purchase, the store has to handle it, but tell us and we will help you along. You have all rights granted by Norwegian consumer law.
Dispute resolution
The agreement is governed by Norwegian law. If we cannot reach an agreement, you can complain to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet), and disputes may be brought before the Consumer Disputes Committee.
Changes
If we change these terms, we will update this page. Material changes are announced in the service before they take effect.
