TALIS 2024: Young teachers expect shorter careers and fewer feel valued by society
- The book «Et blikk på norske ungdomsskoler» is based on a large 2024 survey (TALIS). Norwegian teachers like their jobs and have a good working environment. But they feel society values their profession less. More have high stress and see more disruption in class.
- Teachers are still fairly happy with their own school. But they are less happy with the teaching profession than in 2018, and fewer feel valued by society. This is lower in Norway than in the other Nordic countries. The youngest teachers especially expect to stay in the job for a shorter time than before.
