    Tønsberg approves two-family homes and higher eaves on two plots in Råel syd

    • Tønsberg municipality has decided to change the zoning plan for Råel syd (plan ID 3905 53028, case no. 25/8063). The decision is based on section 12-12 of the Planning and Building Act.
    • The change covers only two plots: Lunas vei 4 and Uranusveien 3. Two-family homes (houses with two dwellings) are now allowed. The eaves height (where the wall meets the roof) goes up from 5.5 m to 6.5 m.

    NVE puts notice for 12 MWp Rom solar plant in Tønsberg out for consultation until 1 October 2026

    • The company Differ Energy AS wants to build a solar plant on the ground at Rom in Slagendalen, Tønsberg. NVE has received notice of the plans, and they are now open for public comment.
    • The plant would have a capacity of about 12 MWp and produce about 13.3 GWh a year. The site covers roughly 115 decares.

    Tønsberg puts plan for about 510 homes and a canal promenade on the former Scanrope site out for consultation until 5 September 2026

    • Tønsberg's planning and building committee decided on 5 June 2026 to send the Kanalbredden (Scanrope) plan out for consultation. Anyone can comment by 5 September 2026.
    • The plan turns an old industrial site by the Canal, between Kaldnes and Færder upper secondary school, into a town area that is mostly housing. There will also be some shops and services.
