   Covid vaccine in Sandefjord autumn 2026: drop-in for 75+ and risk groups, NOK 110

   • Sandefjord municipality offers a covid vaccine every year. You can walk in without booking at Vaksinesenteret, Møylandsenteret and Engveiensenteret.
   • The vaccine is recommended for everyone aged 75 or older, and for people aged 18 to 74 who are more likely to become seriously ill from covid. If you are unsure, ask health personnel.

   Sandefjord municipality puts two new school options including the Sande site out for consultation – deadline 30 November 2026

   • Politicians have decided that two new proposals will be included in the case on new schools in central and eastern Sandefjord: Sande–Gokstad and Sande–Høgenhall. Four other proposals were consulted on the previous autumn and still apply.
   • What is new is that the site of today's Sande school is now being considered for a new school. The municipality wants to build two schools. So Sande must be paired with another eastern site: Gokstad or Høgenhall.

   Sandefjord municipality steps up hunt for small leaks and extraneous water in its water and sewer network

   • Sandefjord municipality spends a lot of time and money finding water that leaks out or ends up where it should not. This includes drinking water that leaks, and "extraneous water" in the sewer.
   • Extraneous water is rain, stream, ground or sea water that gets into sewer pipes. It can also come from roof gutters connected the wrong way. The treatment plant has to clean this water even though it does not need it. That costs money and uses capacity.

   Municipality to renew 800 metres of water and sewer lines at Brydedammen from 21 October

   • The municipality is replacing about 800 metres of pipes in Brydedamveien, Brydedammen, Fjellheimveien and Breiliveien. There will be a new water pipe, and sewage (household wastewater) will be separated from stormwater (rain and meltwater). Space is also being prepared for new cables.
   • Work is planned to start on 21 October and should be finished during October 2027.

   State budget cuts Sandefjord's 2026 finances by NOK 30.7 million and offers no planning funds for the double track

   • The government's proposed state budget for 2027 changes Sandefjord municipality's finances for 2026. In total the municipality has NOK 30.7 million less income and more costs than assumed after the second tertial (its second financial report of the year).
   • The main reason is that the state now expects lower tax income for municipalities in 2026. The municipality also gets slightly less grant money for services that cost a lot per user.

   Sandefjord's Bypakke asks residents to suggest walking and cycling shortcuts

   • Bypakke Sandefjord puts up signs and improves small shortcuts. The aim is to make walking and cycling easier and faster. Residents are asked to suggest more.
   • Two shortcuts have been signed so far: between Guttorm Jarls vei and Jarleveien, and between Vesle Hauan vei and Lundgaards gate.

   • Bypakke Sandefjord offers free bike checks before winter. The offer is bigger this year. Sykkelreparatøren på Framnes is new, and Siljes Sykkel and Karlsen Sykkel og Motor are back.
   • Where and when: Stokke centre Wednesday 28 October 09–17 (Siljes Sykkel). Framnes (Framnesveien 28) Saturday 31 October and 7 November 10–16 (Sykkelreparatøren på Framnes).    Sandefjord to require water meters for all subscribers from 1 January 2027

   • Sandefjord's council has decided new rules for water and sewage fees. Everyone connected to municipal water must have a water meter. The fee will depend on how much water you actually use.

    Municipality prepares area plan for 4,110 decares at Torp, with e-commerce and logistics as the main direction

    • In 2019, large areas around Torp were locked from development pending regulation. This lock (båndlegging) ends in 2027. The municipality is therefore making a new plan for the whole area, about 4,110 decares, east and west of Torp.
    • The area will be used for business, the airport and an energy park. The plan should make business, infrastructure, the environment and the airport's needs work together. Building will happen in phases and be sustainable.
