Financial Supervisory Authority: Njord Kapitalforvaltning over-weighted investment horizon and gave misleading cost and return information

    • The Norwegian FSA says Njord Kapitalforvaltning AS gave poor investment advice. It put too much weight on how long a client planned to save. This broke the rules on good conduct and on checking what suits the client (§§ 10-9 and 10-15).
    • At the time of inspection, clients wanting very low risk could still be advised to buy unlisted real estate funds and private equity funds (AIFs). This applied if they said they would save for 5–10 or over 10 years.

Finanstilsynet: SpareBank 1 Ringerike Hadeland has well-developed credit control, but unclear default definitions and loss calculations need fixing

    • Main conclusion: The authority thinks the bank mostly manages and controls the risk of lending to businesses well. The board should still look at management and reporting in some areas.
    • Credit guidelines: The bank should make some of its own lending rules clearer. That makes it easier to assess loans well and to follow up when there is good reason to deviate from the rules.

Finanstilsynet finds BDO AS committed gross breaches of the Auditors Act in going-concern and deferred tax asset audit
